To me, travel is the most unique thing one can experience in life. The ability to see a new place, new culture, and the change in language is something that will leave a lasting impact on how you see the world. It is a major privilege to travel, but I think one who doesn’t travel is someone who truly won’t ever get to experience all this world has to offer.

The first aspect of a new culture and place that defines the location is the food that is eaten there. As a foodie myself, it is one of the main things I yearn for when traveling. It is something that allows for people to bond, even if they don’t speak the same language. It is the best way to exchange culture, and learn about the style and types of food that are inherent to the place you are visiting. Out of my travels thus far, the best food experiences I’ve had was in Rome, Italy and Tokyo, Japan.

Another thing about traveling that stands out to me is picking up small aspects of the language, to better communicate with the people you encounter. This is my personal favorite thing to do, and even prepare by learning a few words before you go. I think it is one of the most respectful things you can do, and is often greatly appreciated by the locals you meet.
As life goes on, there are a few countries that I would love to visit. Having been to 10 countries and three continents already, I”m excited to visit Belgium this upcoming month. Next up on my list that I hope to visit as soon as I can are China, Australia, and Korea. If I can leave you with one thing now, I urge you to travel. Even if it is little by little, it is something that brings you incomparable experiences and will be something you will never forget.
